DATA PROCESSING AND GIS MANAGER

Introduction

Our company is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Data Processing & GIS Manager to lead and oversee our GIS, preliminary data processing and data quality functions.

This is a hands-on technical and management role suited to someone with strong GIS and data management experience who understands the importance of accurate, structured and reliable data in supporting technical project delivery.

The Data Processing & GIS Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that the company's technical outputs are built on accurate, compliant and reliable data. The role provides oversight from initial data collection and validation through preliminary processing and handover to the technical delivery teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for

• Managing and maintaining the company’s technical data repository, including data structures, naming conventions, version control and backup protocols.

• Managing end-to-end GIS processing workflows and ensuring GIS deliverables meet project and client requirements.

• Reviewing and validating data received from internal data collection teams and external suppliers.

• Preparing and quality-checking preliminary project data sets, including:

• Point clouds from drone and LiDAR scans

• Mesh models

• GIS data layers

• Structural data outputs

• Ensuring validated preliminary data is delivered accurately and on time to downstream technical teams.

• Leading the preparation of Elios 3 or equivalent UAV/inspection reports, including the identification and annotation of structural defects.

• Working closely with technical and QA teams to ensure seamless integration between GIS, data processing, Revit and other technical outputs.

• Maintaining appropriate data quality controls and identifying opportunities to improve workflows and processes.

• Ensuring compliance with applicable data privacy, storage, protection and technical requirements.

• Supporting internal and external audits relating to data and technical processes.

• Leading, mentoring and developing junior technical team members and conducting performance reviews.

• Promoting collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement across the team.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geomatics, Data Science or a related field.

• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in GIS and/or technical data management.

• Strong proficiency in GIS software .

• Experience working with CAD platforms; AutoCAD proficiency would be advantageous.

• Good understanding of drone, LiDAR and survey data workflows .

• Experience in data validation, quality control and technical data preparation.

• Experience supporting technical projects and working across different technical disciplines.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain high standards of data accuracy, quality and compliance.
