- The Data Privacy Senior Specialist: AI will report into the Global Data Privacy Centre of Excellence and will be responsible for leading privacy governance, privacy engineering, and compliance oversight for Artificial Intelligence AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning ML, automation, analytics, and other emerging technology initiatives across the organization. The successful candidate will work closely with Enterprise Architecture, Security Architecture, Legal, Information Security, Data Governance, Product Engineering, Cloud, Digital Transformation, Procurement, and business stakeholders to ensure that AI-enabled solutions are designed, implemented, and operated in compliance with applicable global data protection laws, AI regulations, industry standards, and NTT DATA, Inc. Group global policies.
- The role requires a highly technical professional capable of reviewing complex architectures, cloud-native solutions, AI platforms, large language model LLM deployments, data processing ecosystems, and cross-border data flows to ensure Privacy by Design and Default, and secure data handling principles are embedded from inception through deployment and operational lifecycle. This position will act as a strategic advisor and design authority for privacy matters relating to AI and emerging technologies globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the lead privacy advisor for AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning, and other emerging technology initiatives globally.
- Review and assess AI use cases in terms of solution architectures, technical designs, cloud deployments, and data processing ecosystems from a privacy and regulatory compliance perspective.
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture and Information Security Architecture teams to establish privacy for AI governance controls and privacy engineering standards.
- Define and maintain privacy architecture patterns, control frameworks, and design requirements for AI-enabled systems and services.
- Assess privacy risks associated with Large Language Models LLMs, foundation models, model training datasets, prompts, embeddings, vector databases, and AI integrations, amongst others.
- Work with product teams to define appropriate controls to support and enforce the principles of data privacy by default and by design in our business processes, applications, systems, databases, and products, services and solutions.
- Perform privacy assessments of NTT DATA, Inc. Group products and services to ensure that Data Privacy by Design principles and compliance requirements are embedded within client product and service offerings. This includes providing technical advice on privacy control design and implementation, as well as supporting the creation of go-to-market collateral to support bid and sales processes.
- Provide technical guidance on privacy-enhancing technologies PETs, anonymisation, pseudonymisation, encryption, tokenisation, differential privacy, federated learning, and secure AI design practices in the product development lifecycle, as well as new technology acquisition process.
Knowledge and Attributes
- Strong understanding of AI technologies, Generative AI, Machine Learning concepts, cloud platforms, APIs, and enterprise architectures.
- Strong understanding of privacy engineering and Privacy by Design principles.
- Ability to assess complex technical architectures and identify privacy, ethical, and regulatory risks.
- Experience engaging with architects, engineers, developers, cybersecurity teams, and executive stakeholders.
- Pragmatic and commercially aware approach to balancing innovation and regulatory compliance.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree or appropriate qualification
- CIPP, CIPM, CIPT, AIGP and/or CDPSE preferred
Required experience
- 5+ years' experience in Data Privacy, Information Security, Enterprise Architecture, Technology Risk, or related fields.
- Experience reviewing complex enterprise, cloud, or AI architectures.
- Experience advising on AI, analytics, automation, or emerging technologies.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native technologies, SaaS platforms, APIs, data integrations, and modern software delivery practices.
- Experience engaging with cybersecurity, architecture, engineering, and product development teams.
- Experience conducting DPIAs, and AI risk assessments. preferred.
- Experience working with multinational organisations and global regulatory environments. preferred.
- Experience in telecommunications, technology, cloud, digital services, or professional services environments preferred.
