Job DescriptionCoca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) presents an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer to join the Digital & Technology team at CCBA. The role will report to the relevant Data & Analytics leadership function. CCBA is the 8th largest Coca-Cola authorised bottler in the world by revenue, and the largest on the continent. It accounts for over 40% of all Coca-Cola ready-to-drink beverages sold in Africa by volume. The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise data pipelines and data integration processes that enable reliable, accurate, and timely data delivery across reporting, analytics, and business intelligence platforms. The role is accountable for ensuring that data is effectively extracted, transformed, and loaded from multiple enterprise systems into scalable and secure data platforms that support business decision-making and operational excellence. The incumbent will work closely with data architects, analytics teams, business stakeholders, and technology partners to develop and support data engineering solutions that improve data accessibility, quality, consistency, and performance. The role is responsible for building and maintaining ETL/ELT processes, managing data integration workflows, supporting database and data warehouse environments, and ensuring the reliability and availability of enterprise data assets. Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Development : Develop, manage and optimise scalable data pipelines and integration processes supporting enterprise reporting and analytics.

• Data Integration & Transformation : Ensure accurate and reliable extraction, transformation and loading of data across enterprise systems and platforms.

• Data Quality & Reliability : Support data quality, consistency and integrity through monitoring, validation and issue resolution activities.

• Platform Performance & Optimisation : Improve performance, scalability and efficiency of data processing and analytics environments.

• Automation & Continuous Improvement : Identify and implement opportunities for automation and optimisation across data engineering processes and workflows.

• Technical Support & Collaboration : Collaborate with analytics, business and technology teams to support data availability and business requirements.

Skills, Experience & Education

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems or related field

Experience

• 6-8 years' experience in data engineering or database development roles

• Experience with ETL/ELT tools, databases and cloud data platforms

• Experience supporting analytics and reporting environments

• FMCG or enterprise data environment experience advantageous
