Introduction

Reporting to the Vice CEO and based in Krugersdorp, the Data Centre Manager is the custodian of the Group's digital logistics infrastructure, operational intelligence and financial settlement integrity. The role ensures that physical load movements are accurately captured, reconciled and converted into verified transporter and vendor settlements. The incumbent leads the data and settlement functions, safeguards system and data integrity, and translates South African logistics and financial information into clear executive reporting for local leadership and China HQ. This is a permanent, mid-level management position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the Logistics Data Controllers and transporter/vendor settlement and payment function, ensuring clear accountability, accuracy and service standards.

Maintain end-to-end control of load reconciliations, PODs, weighbridge records, siding reports, historical uploads and supporting logistics documentation.

Verify transporter and vendor invoices against reconciled load data, approved rates, contra-charges and supporting documents before payment approval.

Drive 100% settlement accuracy and prevent financial leakage, duplicate payments, unsupported charges and unresolved discrepancies.

Manage the settlement-to-payment lifecycle and ensure service providers are paid accurately and within agreed terms.

Manage the stability and logic of digital workflows linking operational dispatch information to financial settlement outputs.

Monitor data quality and system exceptions, investigate discrepancies, resolve root causes and strengthen preventative controls.

Prepare weekly and monthly executive reporting on upliftment performance, settlement costs, exceptions and financial exposure.

Translate complex logistics and financial datasets into clear management information for the Vice CEO, CEO and China-based stakeholders.

Act as a communication bridge between South African operations and China HQ and support workflow automation, reporting standardisation and data governance.

Maintain appropriate access controls, audit trails, filing standards and document-retention practices for operational and financial data

Desired Experience & Qualification

Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 3–5 years’ relevant experience in logistics finance, transport finance, settlements, reconciliations, or a related financial environment.

At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial role, with responsibility for team performance, operational oversight, or financial control.

Strong understanding of South African logistics payment and supporting documentation, including Proof of Deliveries (PODs), weighbridge tickets, siding reports, transporter invoices, and related settlement records.

Demonstrated experience in transporter and vendor reconciliations, payment verification, settlement processing, and financial data control.

Experience working within a Chinese multinational or cross-cultural corporate environment will be highly advantageous.

Strong proficiency in logistics data systems, digital settlement workflows, reconciliation processes, and advanced Microsoft Excel reporting and analysis.

High levels of integrity, confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail, particularly when dealing with financial information and payment approvals.

Willingness to undertake domestic travel and occasional international travel as required.
