Our international client with offices in Cape Town, is looking for a Data Operator to play a key role in maintaining the quality, accuracy and reliability of their datasets. This is a detail-driven position where you will capture, maintain and validate data from a range of relevant sources.
Your attention to detail, consistency and sound judgement will directly influence the quality of the data and products the wider business relies on. Duties & Responsibilities
REQUIREMENTS
- Matric, relevant qualification highly advantageous
- Strong, sustained attention to detail during repetitive and high-volume work
- Sound research and problem-solving: verifies before trusting, investigates before escalating; researches and makes informed decisions with good justification
- Clear written and spoken English
- Good time management and self-organisation
- Takes ownership of tasks end to end; asks for support appropriately; works well in a team
- Comfortable learning new tools and adapting as processes change
- Confident with computers and everyday digital tools
DUTIES
- Capture and maintain data across relevant sources to a high standard of accuracy and completeness, including regular accommodation price and availability updates
- Apply quality assurance to your own work; identify and correct errors, inconsistencies, and gaps
- Research and verify data across multiple sources
- Gather market intelligence to support the development of the dataset
- Observe and analyse data changes across the student accommodation sector
- Follow data guidelines, processes, and quality assurance checks consistently
- Resolve issues independently where possible; escalate promptly when not
- Organise your workload to meet deadlines without compromising quality
- Communicate updates, questions, and blockers clearly; document your work for others to follow
- Support dataset-related projects and other areas of the business during busy periods, as needed
Salary: R negotiable dependent on experience
