- We have an exciting role for a Customs Specialist.
- The role is based at our Head office in Linbro Park, JHB.
Education
- Grade 12 Certificate
- 1-year customs related qualification at NQF level 3
Knowledge and experience
- 10 years import/customs experience in the Clearing and Forwarding Industry of which at least 5 years were in a customs framing entry capacity
- Must be well versed with Refund/Drawback procedure's and all adjustments
- Must understand acquittal process
- Commercial, transport, carrier & depot and statutory body documents & stamps
- Basic international trade principles. Applicable knowledge of Customs and Excise Act
- Geography
- Functional business objectives and strategies
- Knowledge of INCO Terms Carrier & depot conditions of trade
- Principles of Duty calculation
- Knowledge of tariffing
- National currencies and international codes
- Computer literacy
- Good communication skills Verbal &Written
- Situation analysis and problem solving. Good Interpersonal skills
- Client orientation. Accuracy and Methodical
- Handle pressure and attention to detail

Overall responsibilities include
- Processing of customs and other statutory body documents required for customs
- Audit products against customs and other statutory body requirements
- Update Harmonised Customs Tariff and related books
- Comply with the requirements of the quality management system
