Job Description
- To assess, analyse, and monitor agricultural credit facilities by evaluating financial information, managing risk, and supporting informed lending decisions that promote sustainable client growth.
Requirements
- Min Grade 12 or NQF4
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Agricultural Economics or Economics
- RE5 will serve as an advantage
- Experience within the banking and financial environment will serve as recommendation
- A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in credit analysis and agricultural finance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- The ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience using financial analysis tools and systems.
- An understanding of agricultural finance and farming operations.
- Constantly adding value to the current functions of the job
- Ability to function well in a high-pressure environment
- Knowledge of the National Credit Act
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English as this position is a client facing role
Duties
- Analysing financial statements, management accounts, and cash flow budgets of farmers and agricultural businesses.
- Conducting general credit and administrative functions related to credit applications.
- Assessing and verifying securities such as farms, livestock, crops, and agricultural equipment.
- Evaluating whether sufficient security is available to support financing requests.
- Reviewing and reassessing annual credit facilities.
- Identifying clients who may be experiencing financial stress and proactively highlighting potential risks.
- Working closely with Relationship Managers to understand client needs and prepare credit applications.
- Ensuring compliance with company Credit and Risk Policies.
- Producing clear credit recommendations, reports, and financial assessments.
- Timely completion and follow-up of administrative duties inquiries, auditors
- Completion of tasks – urgency, professionalism, and contributing to improved outputs
- Application of the POPI Act in handling member inquiries
