Job Description

• Gather and analyse financial information from loan applicants to assess financial risk and determine creditworthiness. • Evaluate the creditworthiness of individuals, companies, and institutions. • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments using regional, industry-specific, environmental, and other relevant financial data. • Collaborate with financial specialists and Credit Committee members to support decisions to approve or decline finance applications. • Make informed recommendations regarding the approval, adjustment, extension, increase, or closure of credit facilities. • Prepare and present detailed credit assessment reports and recommendations. • Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance. • Stay informed of market trends and developments that may impact credit risk. • Monitor and ensure compliance with collateral requirements and financial covenants. • Ensure that all financing transactions are concluded in accordance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. • Analyse and verify financial and supporting data to ensure the accuracy and reliability of information. • Contribute to the ongoing review and improvement of credit rating criteria and risk assessment processes. • Communicate credit decisions, policies, and requirements clearly to internal stakeholders and credit applicants. • Oversee and/or perform the preparation, review, and verification of all relevant credit and supporting documentation. Minimum Requirements

  • Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • A Degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Accounting, Finance, Credit Risk, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in a similar credit or financial risk role.
  • Advanced computer literacy, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Valid Code 8 driver's licence.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Confident and proactive, with the ability to anticipate potential issues and requirements.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong business relationships.
  • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • A collaborative team player with a professional approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
