Duties & Responsibilities
As the Credit Analyst , you will play a pivotal part in shaping credit portfolio outcomes, contributing to strategic objectives and supporting client success through rigorous analysis and recommendations.

Qualifications and experience required for the Credit Analyst
- Completed Bachelors and Honours degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics or Statistics
- CFA or MCom in Finance or Risk Management (or currently working towards either) is advantageous
- 6+ years of relevant experience within banking or asset management environments
- Practical experience working with credit market securities , including structured securities
- Proficiency in financial statement analysis
- Advanced Excel skills
Key duties of the Credit Analyst
- Conduct comprehensive credit research across multiple sectors, industries and issuers within the broader economy to inform investment decisions.
- Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of sector drivers, macroeconomic influences, regulatory developments and market dynamics affecting issuer performance and credit quality.
- Monitor local and global fixed income market trends, including credit spreads, liquidity conditions, interest rate movements, and economic indicators to shape investment views.
- Identify emerging risks, opportunities and themes within the investable universe by providing timely insights to the Fixed Income team.
- Perform detailed fundamental credit analysis on counterparties, issuers, and debt instruments using both quantitative and qualitative risk indicators.
- Assess issuer financial strength by evaluating cash flow generation, leverage ratios, liquidity positions, capital structures, business risks, management quality, and sector positioning.
- Pre-screen potential investment opportunities by delivering clear, timely recommendations supported by robust analysis to the team.
- Build and enhance corporate financial models that underpin investment theses over recommended horizons while generating internal credit ratings for issuers.
- Compile high-quality analyst reports including credit views, probability of default assessments, exposure recommendations and key risk considerations for governance committees.
- Develop quantitative credit risk models to support decision-making processes while driving efficiencies through data-driven analysis and automation.
