Duties & Responsibilities
Job Description
In this role, reporting to the Site Manager, the General Foreman will handle:
- Supervising daily site operations and coordinating construction activities
- Managing labour teams, subcontractors, and ensuring productivity targets are met
- Monitoring health and safety compliance on site and enforcing safety procedures
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings and ensuring work is completed according to specifications
- Reporting project progress, site issues, and material requirements to management
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications
- Minimum NQF4/5 TJEKA
- Red Seal Advantageous
Skills
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience working as a Senior / General Foreman within the construction industry
- Proven track record in supervising both commercial and residential building projects
- Strong leadership abilities with experience managing site teams and daily operations
- Experience in structural, wet trades and finishing.
- Capable of coordinating project schedules while maintaining quality and productivity standards
- Sound knowledge of construction drawings, site procedures, and health and safety regulations
