The Links Golf Course Maintenance department is now accepting applications for a Course Technician – someone who can add his / her skills to the team and that takes great pride and pleasure in caring for our golf courses. We consider the following as essential: Qualifications & Experience: Grade 12 or equivalent, Must have a valid driver's license, Must have gained at least 2 years of golf course maintenance experience. Duties & Responsibilities (areas and indicators listed are not exhaustive and may be changed / supplemented to accommodate business needs from time to time): Doing the daily course set up, including moving the markers and the pins, setting up the Tee boxes, checking edging and cup-depth on any other day according to cup set-up, checking that flag poles are clean and replacing flags when old, damaged, etc., Servicing the tee boxes, filling sand bins, repairing divots, emptying dustbins, etc., Ensuring that team members have the correct equipment and ensuring equipment is stored correctly at the end of each shift, Carrying out cultural practices like fertilizing, hollow tinning, dusting and topdressing as required, Watering and monitoring all dry areas on the fairways, tees, intermediate and rough, Reporting any unusual conditions and / or diseases on the greens to the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, Assisting with general maintenance practices. Adverse working conditions: Must be prepared to work weekends & Public holidays, Must be prepared to work outside in inclement weather, If you believe you have suitable experience and qualifications, please apply online.
