Job Description

  • Dis-Chem Pharmacies' requires the committed services of a customer-oriented Cosmetics Merchandiser for their Store in Strubensvalley. The purpose of the position is to ensure basic Dis-Chem merchandising standards are properly executed and maintained. Provide proper customer service in accordance with Dis-Chem policies and procedures.

Essential

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Minimum of 0 – 6 Months Retail experience

Advantageous

  • Minimum of 1 year experience within retail

Job Description

Stock Control

  • Restock merchandise when needed to ensure maximum sales.
  • Delivered stock or stock pulled from the store room must be stored and packed in the correct space immediately.
  • Ensure the stock on the shelves has not reached sell by dates.
  • Ensure full ranges of products are on the shelves at all times.
  • Facilitate the rotation of stoke on a regular basis and adhere to Dis-Chem stock control procedures.
  • Keep the storeroom organised, neat and tidy.
  • Report low stock levels, items that are out of stock, damaged stock and expired stock to management.
  • Stock must be rotated on a continual, first in first out basis.
  • Assist with the counting of stock files and general stock taking when needed.
  • Ensure boxes are flattened after unpacking stock and taken to designated area.
  • Identify and report damaged and expired stock immediately to one of the store management team members.

Merchandising

  • Uphold the Dis-Chem merchandising policy and procedure standards.
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem operating standards, store layout and planograms.
  • Front shop shelves and products must be neatly presented and visible at all times.
  • Labels and pricing must be correct at all times.
  • Report all price discrepancies to management.
  • Ensure you are aware of new products and have up to date product knowledge.
  • Ensure restocking of merchandise and supplies as needed to ensure maximum sales.
  • Merchandising displays must be built, faced up, stocked and maintained according to Dis-Chem procedures.
  • Maintain the daily physical upkeep of the store and merchandise displays and be responsible for your designated stock in the store room as well as on the shop floor.
  • Assist with the loading and off-loading of stock, when needed.
  • Ensure items without barcodes are clearly marked.
  • Be available to assist with back shopping.
  • Assist with the training of new and current staff members.
  • Handle all merchandise carefully to prevent any losses.

Customer Service

  • Provide friendly, helpful and courteous assistance and advice to all customers.
  • All out of stock queries from customers must be followed up with the customer service out of stock list.
  • All customer stock queries must be dealt with and resolved.
  • The correct uniform and name badge must be worn at all times as per the Dis-Chem uniform policy.

General

  • Housekeeping must be in accordance to Dis-Chem standards. Make sure that your work station is always clean and tidy.
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem Uniform and personal appearance policy.
