- The incumbent will be responsible for meal preparation of food & daily kitchen production. Must provide good quality food service, working hand in hand with chefs. Must be able to read recipes, follow menu planning, and understanding HSE.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Cook
- Working in contract catering environment is advantageous
- Food and Beverage or Culinary arts qualification Advantageous
- Matric
- Knowledge, Skills and Competence:
- Knife handling skills
- Must understand flavour profiles
- Kitchen experience
- Heat and portion control
- Understanding of food safety
- Good communication skills
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Contribute to the efficient running of the kitchen by producing and presenting food of the highest quality
- Supporting the kitchen team with general duties.
- Reporting any hazardous obstacles
- Apply health, Safety and environment standards HSE
- Reporting to Unit Manager or senior on site
