Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and portion standards.
- Assist with food preparation, ingredient preparation, and meal service.
- Ensure food is presented attractively and served on time.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness.
- Assist with stock control, stock rotation, and minimizing food wastage.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies and procedures.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas.
- Assist with costing, portion control, and reducing food waste.
- Support the Chef and kitchen team in daily operations.
- Ensure all food products are stored correctly and safely.
- Step in to manage the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef or Sous Chef.

Qualifications
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Relevant Food Preparation or Culinary Qualification will be advantageous.
- 2–3 years' experience in a similar role within catering, hospitality, healthcare, or food service environments.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts when required.
