The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals while maintaining exceptional food safety, hygiene, and customer service standards in a corporate dining environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and menu requirements.
- Ensure food is presented attractively and served at the correct temperatures.
- Assist with menu planning and daily food production.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with stock control and ordering.
- Minimize food waste and adhere to portion control guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and health and safety regulations.
- Assist with catering functions and special events when required.
- Support the kitchen team to ensure efficient service delivery.
Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and kitchen operations.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant Culinary Qualification will be advantageous.
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Cook within a contract catering, hospitality, or food service environment.
