- Residency in Johannesburg or East Rand is essential.
- Minimum 5 years transfers and deceased estates experience.
- Proven experience working as a Conveyancing Secretary.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Legal Software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Duties
- Manage the full conveyancing process from instruction to registration, including opening, maintaining, and closing conveyancing files.
- Prepare, draft, and process all conveyancing documentation relating to property transfers and deceased estates.
- Liaise with clients, estate agents, banks, bond attorneys, cancellation attorneys, the Deeds Office, the Master of the High Court, executors, and other stakeholders.
- Attend to property transfers arising from deceased estates, ensuring all required documentation is complete and compliant.
- Request, monitor, and follow up on rates clearances, levy clearances, transfer duty receipts, compliance certificates, and other outstanding documentation.
- Coordinate document signing, lodge transfer documents for registration, monitor progress through to registration, and attend to all post-registration processes.
- Maintain accurate records, provide regular updates to clients and stakeholders, and ensure compliance with conveyancing procedures and legal requirements.
