- The role is responsible for delivering professional maintenance services for industrial instrumentation systems to support and optimize the performance of our instrumentation, electrical, and production departments.
Key responsibilities will include
- Developing and continually refining the most appropriate maintenance strategies and standard jobs for the process instrumentation, PLC software and SCADA, communications networks and power electronic equipment, whilst ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Optimizing PLC code, to ensuring system reliability, and improving overall plant efficiency.
- Maintain and update our Databridge, Webserver, Datamonitor and Maintenance servers.
- Assisting with the training and development of Instrumentation artisans.
- Compiling engineering specifications to ensure a visible standard for compliance.
- Adherence to MOC process and procedures.
- Supporting Instrumentation, Electrical and Control Room staff in software faultfinding.
- Assessing and modifying the process of long-term maintenance scheduling to ensure that the developed maintenance strategies are adhered to in practice.
- Manage the execution of the project by ensuring that the quality of the project is of high standards and completed on time.
- Participate in the FAT & SAT Testing of projects to validate system functionality and performance against project requirements.
- Compiling and updating specifications, codes of practice and standards on company- wide instrumentation and power electronic equipment and ensure general compliance.
- Ensuring adherence to HSEQ standards.
Intrinsic Qualities

- Ability to troubleshoot and do fault-finding
- Good understanding or knowledge of Networks & Fieldbus Protocol.
- Analytical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Good negotiation, facilitation and presentation skills.
- Good understanding and knowledge of planned maintenance principles.
Qualifications & Experience
- National Diploma in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering
- Five years working experience in a maintenance environment.
- Hands on experience on Siemens S7 equipment with a good working knowledge of PCS7, WinCC and Step 7 programming.
- Experience with Siemens TIA Portal TIA and associated PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Advanced computer literacy.
- Registration with ECSA will be advantageous.
