Job Title: Control Room Operator Start Date: 2026-08-17 - 2026-09-16 Vacancy Type: Permanent PTA000294 Sectors: Security Call Centre Location: Gauteng , Tshwane (Pretoria) Salary: R 15000 Monthly Cost To Company (Pension Fund 13th Cheque/Bonus) Brief: cctv cameras|cctv monitoring|control room|night shift jobs|security|securityjobs Working Hours: 18:00 – 06:00, night shift (3 shifts on, 2 shifts off) Working Arrangement: Office-based Start Date: September / October 2026 Job Overview: Our client is looking for a trustworthy, hardworking and responsible Control Room Operator to monitor alarms and CCTV activity in their private control room during the night shift. The successful candidate will assess incidents, coordinate the appropriate response, communicate with managers and security services, and accurately record relevant incidents and actions taken. The ideal candidate will be down-to-earth, respectful and dependable, with strong moral values and a willingness to take responsibility and go the extra mile when required. Previous control room or alarm monitoring experience will be advantageous but is not essential for the right person. Detail: Minimum requirements: Grade 12 / Matric certificate Previous experience in a control room, monitoring, security or similar environment will be advantageous. Experience or knowledge of alarm monitoring systems will be beneficial. Must be comfortable working night shifts according to a 3-on, 2-off roster, including weekends. Must be willing to work overtime when required Good communication skills in Afrikaans and/or English. Basic computer literacy and the ability to work with monitoring systems. Must be able to work independently and remain focused throughout the shift. Duties: Monitor all incoming alarms and CCTV activity, identifying incidents or activity requiring attention. Review and assess alarm activations and CCTV observations to determine the appropriate response. Contact the relevant manager and coordinate with security services when intervention is required. Maintain clear, accurate and prompt communication with managers and security personnel. Accurately record incidents, alarm activations, actions taken and responses. Follow established control room procedures, escalation processes and security protocols. Remain alert and attentive throughout the shift, responding promptly and appropriately to incidents. Escalate unresolved or significant issues to the relevant manager when necessary. Perform any other reasonable duties related to the control room function.
