- Established plumbing and construction contractor specialising in commercial and residential plumbing installations.
- Projects involve working closely with main contractors, engineers, and project teams to deliver quality plumbing installations on time and within budget.
Key Requirements
- Valid driver's licence
- 5–10 years' experience within the plumbing industry
- Previous experience as a Contracts Manager or similar role managing multiple construction sites
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent project planning and organisational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple teams and sites simultaneously
- Strong budgeting, cost control, and reporting experience
- Experience liaising with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and main contractors
- Computer literate with experience maintaining project documentation and reporting systems
Responsibilities
- Plan projects ahead of time to ensure controlled, profitable, and sustainable project delivery
- Manage all site requirements on behalf of the company, including attending site meetings with main contractors
- Ensure quality control procedures, testing, and reporting are implemented across all sites
- Ensure site foremen are working from the latest approved drawings and project information
- Ensure installations comply with council regulations and project specifications
- Manage project profitability, budgets, and material procurement to prevent delays and cost escalations
- Track monthly site costs in conjunction with the Quantity Surveyor
- Monitor project progress against construction programmes and maintain accurate project records
- Issue formal notifications relating to programme delays, payment delays, and work stoppages where required
- Coordinate labour, subcontractors, and resource allocation across multiple sites
- Prepare and submit progress claims and variation claims with the Quantity Surveyor
- Oversee daily business operations and identify opportunities for operational improvement
- Assist with staff development and recommend training initiatives
- Liaise with clients and consulting engineers while identifying new project opportunities
- Assist with compiling tenders, particularly Design & Construct projects
- Prepare monthly reports covering project progress, programme updates, and cost status
- Maintain accurate project documentation, drawings, and records
- Perform additional duties as required to support business operations
- Be available to work hours determined by site requirements
