Our client, a prominent consulting engineering firm, is looking for an experienced Contracts Engineer (PrEng) to play a key role in the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be ready to hit the ground running and act as the Employer’s Agent.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer construction contracts across infrastructure projects in accordance with industry standards.
- Fulfill the formal duties and responsibilities of the Employer’s Agent on site and project levels.
- Oversee contract compliance, variations, claims, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
- Monitor project delivery to ensure quality, timeline, and budgetary alignment.
- Manage relationships and communications between clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum Requirements
- ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer (PrEng).
- Minimum 5 years’ post-registration experience.
- Proven experience in administering construction contracts..
- Demonstrated experience acting as the Employer’s Agent on infrastructure projects
- Ability to start ASAP.
- Preferably resident in Cape Town.
Key Skills & Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of standard engineering contracts (e.g., GCC, FIDIC, NEC).
- Strong contract administration and legal compliance expertise.
- Project governance and dispute resolution.
- Technical leadership and decision-making.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
