Safety, Health, and Environment
- Consistently apply Safety and health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for the safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
- Active participation in SLAMs, HPHs, relevant Risk Assessments and close-out of Safety Actions.
Scope of Work Preparation
- Advise Request Originators on preparing the Scope of Work SoW, focusing on planning and scheduling requirements.
- Translate the finalised SoW into precise planning and scheduling milestones for Contractor Performance Management CPM activities.
Proposal and Schedule Review
- Review technical proposals and schedules submitted by bidders to ensure they are achievable within the agreed CPM standards and SoW requirements.
- Identify and report any concerns or discrepancies to Subject Matter Experts SMEs and the Company
Tendering and Planning Support
- Tender Process Support: Provide specialist insights and conduct site visits to assist in the tendering process.
- Develop and assess the contract plan in alignment with the Contractor's work plan, available resources, and required SoW to ensure agreement compliance.
Performance Analysis
- Contribute to project effectiveness by identifying risks, defining critical tasks, and tracking performance targets.
- Monitor and report on compliance with the SoW schedule, recommending corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure effective performance tracking and provide specialist support in managing contractual Key Performance Indicators KPIs.
Project Execution and Feedback
- Actively participate in kick-off meetings, mobilisation efforts, and the approval of work activities.
- Offer advice on setting value delivery targets, tracking progress, and developing initiatives during the pre-execution phases of the CPM process.
- Provide valuable feedback during post-contract reviews at the close-out stages, capturing lessons learned to inform future projects.
Change Management
- Assess schedule changes and provide recommendations for adjustments to the contract plan, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
Documentation Management
- Maintain accurate documentation of planning processes, changes, and decisions for future reference and compliance purposes.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance contract planning processes and overall project delivery effectiveness.
This role is in Contractor Performance Management CPM department on a Band 7 C-Upper level reporting to the Contractor Management Advisor.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Higher National Certificate in Supply Chain Management/Safety Management on NQF5
- National Diploma in Supply Chain Management NQF6 is preferred or equivalent
- SA Drivers Licence
Technical Knowledge
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in a mining operational environment.
- Understanding of SoW preparation, planning, and scheduling.
- Experience in Contractor Management Systems.
- Knowledge of CPM frameworks, KPI management, and milestones tracking.
- Ability to assess technical feasibility, project timelines, and compliance with the SoW.
- Familiarity with tender procedures, site visit protocols, and contract compliance.
- Expertise in identifying risks, critical path analysis, and recommending corrective measures.
- Understanding contract modifications, their impact on schedules, and resource allocation adjustments.
- Knowledge of maintaining and managing project-related documentation and changes.
