- As a Contract Manager in the industrial sector, you will oversee the planning, negotiation, and management of contracts related to various projects. Your primary focus will be on ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, risk management, and maximizing value for the organization throughout the contract lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze contract terms and conditions to minimize risk and protect the organization's interests.
- Negotiate contract terms with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders while maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Prepare and maintain contract documentation, ensuring that all agreements are accurate and compliant with legal standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify project needs and establish contract requirements.
- Monitor contract performance, ensuring that all parties fulfill their contractual obligations within established timelines.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of contracts to assess compliance and rectify any discrepancies.
- Provide guidance and training to team members on contract management best practices and policies.
- Stay informed about industry trends and changes in legislation that may affect contract terms and practices.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in contract management, particularly within the industrial sector or related fields.
- Strong understanding of legal principles related to contracts and procurement processes.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
- Proven track record of managing multiple contracts simultaneously while keeping attention to detail.
- Proficient in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address contractual issues and disputes effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- A relevant degree in law, business administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification in contract management e.g., CPCM, CCM, or similar.
- Experience with tender processes and procurement regulations in the South African context.
- Familiarity with risk management principles and practices related to contract management.
