- Team Leadership & People Management: Direct, motivate, and mentor site cleaning teams and room attendants across rotating shifts; foster a positive working environment, handle shift rosters, manage absenteeism, and conduct hands-on training.
- Client & Housekeeper Collaboration: Work closely in tandem with the clients Executive Housekeeper and site management; maintain open communication channels and directly handle client queries, feedback, and operational requirements.
- Housekeeping & Operational Excellence: Oversee daily cleaning operations, enforcing hotel-grade hygiene standards, room turnarounds, and room inspection protocols across designated properties.
- SLA & Relationship Management: Conduct regular SLA feedback meetings with hotel management, proactively resolve complaints, and ensure continuous service improvements.
- Financial & Resource Control: Monitor contract profitability, manage site budgets, control wage costs, audit cleaning chemical/equipment usage, and maintain accurate asset registers.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce strict Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards, color-coding protocols, chemical safety (MSDS), and audit readiness.
What youll need
- Minimum 35 years of contract management or supervisory experience strictly within Housekeeping and Cleaning Services (Hotel, Resort, Lodge, or Boutique Hospitality environment).
- In-depth knowledge of hotel housekeeping standards, cleaning methodologies, chemical management, room inspection workflows, and guest satisfaction standards.
- Shift Availability: Fully available and willing to work flexible shift rosters, including weekends and public holidays as dictated by operational needs.
- Transport: Must have reliable, dependable transport to and from work for scheduled shift times.
- Compliance & HR: Solid understanding of South African labour legislation (BCEA, LRA), OHS standards, and performance management.
- Gr12 - Matric Pass, tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management, Facilities Management, or Operations is advantageous.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills with a proven ability to lead and manage cleaning teams while dealing diplomatically with clients and Executive Housekeepers
