This role analyses production processes, identifies improvement opportunities, and implements engineering‑based solutions that optimise workflow, reduce waste, and support operational excellence. The incumbent partners closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure the plant operates at world‑class manufacturing standards while supporting capacity growth, lean implementation, and data‑driven decision‑making. The role ensures that improvements are measurable, sustainable, and aligned with business objectives, ultimately contributing to higher output reliability, improved trailer build quality, and reduced operating costs. Minimum Requirements: - Grade 12 and Tertiary Qualification in Industrial Engineering - Code 8 Driver's License - Able to apply Engineering principles and theories - Improve current processes and implement new procedures/policies - Sound experience and understanding of quality management principles - Sound Industrial Engineering techniques - Computer Literacy in MS Office - 10+ years Industrial/Continuous Improvement Engineer - 10+ years Trailer Manufacturing and/or Production Industry experience Main duties: - Apply sound Industrial Engineering techniques to improve operating performance and reduce wastage and delays - Ensure high production and produce cost reductions and higher levels of efficiency - Development of manufacturing methods to improve material handling in production - Plan, co-ordinate and maintain all manufacturing information and systems - Co-ordinate the movement of raw/finished products from point of origin to point of consumption - Develop most efficient ways to use people, machines, materials, information, and energy to make a product or service - Optimise methods of organisation - Study product requirements and design manufacturing and information systems to meet requirements - Develop management control systems - Perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes - Assist in financial planning and cost analysis - Design methods to ensure product quality - Determine most viable plant and factory locations - Resolve production problems - Design layout of equipment and workspace - Estimate production costs - Evaluate accuracy of production and testing equipment - Study and rearrange org charts, material flow, and operations sequence - Continuous Improvement regarding all aspects of production - Assist with general duties as required from time to time - Improve maintenance schedules and housekeeping in relevant sections - Carry out production management - Control duties by recording the movement of products through the production process against pre-planned schedules - Identify production backlogs or short falls in quantities - Solve problems or situations that the foreman of the department report using Industrial Engineering techniques - Ensure that all work done in production area is on standard and adheres to quality standards Consultant: Joline Jonker - Dante Personnel Pretoria Silver Lakes Apply via our website www.dantesa.co.za If you do not hear from us within 5 days, please accept that your application was unsuccessful show more...
