- Facilitate Committee strategic and operational planning, performance monitoring and evaluation Support the development, implementation and monitoring of Committee strategic and operational plans and performance commitments.
Provide Committee support with regards to
- Strategic, Policy and Advisory Support to Committees - Provide strategic, policy and advisory support through research, analysis and briefing documentation.
- Oversight of Executive Action - Support oversight processes through analysis of departmental performance, reports and Executive responses.
- Legislation - Support the processing and analysis of Bills, legislative frameworks and stakeholder submissions.
- Public Participation and Stakeholder Engagement - Coordinate and support public participation and stakeholder engagement processes.
- Statutory appointments - Provide procedural and administrative support for statutory appointment processes.
- International participation - Support international engagements, study tours and inter-parliamentary activities of the Committee.
- Quality assures committee records and reports - Review and quality assure Committee reports, minutes and related documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Committee Budgeting: Preparation of the budget, in line with the Committee APP and the Parliamentary budgetary process - Support the preparation and monitoring of the Committee budget in line with the APP and Parliamentary processes.
To qualify, you must have a minimum of
- Master's degree NQF level 9 in Public Administration, Public Policy, Economics, Law, Governance, or a related field; and five 5 years' experience in policy analysis, research, or strategic advisory services within the public service, public administration, or a related governance environment. THIS POST IS SUBJECT TO A SIX-MONTH PROBATION PERIOD.
You must also demonstrate
- Strong research, policy analysis, and synthesis skills, particularly in legislative and strategic contexts.
- Comprehensive knowledge of parliamentary policies, rules, procedures, and governance systems.
- Strong capability in strategic and operational planning, performance monitoring, reporting, and project management.
- Political awareness with the ability to operate effectively in a sensitive political environment.
- Proven organisational and administrative skills, with a focus on quality assurance and attention to detail.
- Strong stakeholder coordination and facilitation skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and creativity, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Proven ability to perform under sustained pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- High computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office, Internet, and Outlook.
- Effective self-management, including stress management skills.
- Excellent inter and intrapersonal skills
