Job Title: Construction Manager/ Site Agent

Job Overview

The Construction Manager / Site Agent is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and successful delivery of construction projects. The role ensures that all works are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards while maintaining compliance with contractual obligations, statutory requirements, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise civil construction works, including pipelines, earthworks, roads, concrete structures, and reservoir projects.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, SANS 1200 standards, and GCC conditions of contract.
• Monitor project schedules and track progress using project management tools such as MS Project.
• Manage subcontractors, site personnel, plant, equipment, and material resources effectively.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, engineers, local authorities, and other project stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit progress reports, site documentation, and project updates to management.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and site-related issues.
• Lead and motivate project teams to achieve project objectives and operational excellence.

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum of 5-8 years'' experience in construction management on civil engineering projects.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• ECSA or SACPCMP registration (preferred).
• Proven experience managing civil construction projects, including:
• Pipelines
• Earthworks
• Roads
• Concrete works
• Reservoirs

• Strong knowledge and practical application of SANS 1200 specifications and GCC contract requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software, particularly MS Project.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
