PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The purpose of this role is to lead and oversee Rand Refinery's compliance function, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, responsible sourcing standards, customer due diligence, and anti-money laundering obligations. The role drives effective governance, audit readiness, and continuous improvement while mitigating regulatory, financial, operational and operational risks. SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO: Lead and strengthen the compliance governance framework, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, responsible sourcing standards, and compliance controls. Oversee customer due diligence, onboarding, risk assessments, continuous monitoring, and the management of high-risk compliance matters. Ensure high-risk matters, sanctions hits, adverse media findings, PEP risks, and unusual transactions are appropriately investigated, escalated, and managed. Manage compliance reporting, committee submissions, risk registers, and stakeholder engagement with customers, auditors, regulators, and internal business unit. Provide oversight of customer master data, contract administration, pricing controls, and customer account governance to ensure compliance with approved policies and procedures. Maintain effective risk management processes, compliance registers, monitoring activities, and escalation mechanisms. Lead audit readiness activities, coordinate internal and external audits, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the compliance function. Lead, coach, and develop the Compliance Team while fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, confidentiality, and continuous improvement.
