SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO

  • Lead and strengthen the compliance governance framework, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, responsible sourcing standards, and compliance controls.
  • Oversee customer due diligence, onboarding, risk assessments, continuous monitoring, and the management of high-risk compliance matters.
  • Ensure high-risk matters, sanctions hits, adverse media findings, PEP risks, and unusual transactions are appropriately investigated, escalated, and managed.
  • Manage compliance reporting, committee submissions, risk registers, and stakeholder engagement with customers, auditors, regulators, and internal business unit.
  • Provide oversight of customer master data, contract administration, pricing controls, and customer account governance to ensure compliance with approved policies and procedures.
  • Maintain effective risk management processes, compliance registers, monitoring activities, and escalation mechanisms.
  • Lead audit readiness activities, coordinate internal and external audits, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the compliance function.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Compliance Team while fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, confidentiality, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • A relevant Degree in Compliance, Legal Studies, Risk Management, Finance, Business, Internal Audit or a related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification or professional compliance/risk certification will be advantageous.
  • At least 7 to 10 years' relevant experience in compliance, KYC/AML, responsible sourcing, customer due diligence.
  • Experience in metals, mining, refining, responsible sourcing, SAP customer master data, or LBMA-related assurance environments will be advantageous.

SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES

  • Intermediate proficiency—Microsoft suite Excel, Email, Word and SAP.
  • Excellent analytical and risk assessment abilities.
  • Sound judgement and decision-making capability.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Audit and compliance management expertise.
  • Policy development and governance oversight.
  • High levels of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into effective business processes.

KNOWLEDGE

  • LBMA Responsible Gold and Silver Guidance, RMI and UAEGD requirements.
  • FICA, POCA, POPIA, Precious Metals Act, and applicable KYC/AML regulations.
