Our client is seeking a skilled Compliance & Governance Officer to oversee regulatory compliance, strengthen governance functions, and directly support their Wealth and Corporate divisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Framework & Governance Management: Manage and elevate the group''s compliance framework, governance programmes, and internal risk assessments.
- Regulatory Oversight: Ensure ongoing alignment with PAIA, FICA, FSCA, and broader legislation, keeping policies, manuals, registers, and regulatory returns up to date.
- Monitoring & Audits: Track legislative changes, perform regular compliance monitoring, and conduct internal audits to implement necessary operational updates.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for regulators, external compliance officers, and service providers.
- Division & Staff Support: Provide compliance advice to the Wealth Team and design/deliver engaging compliance training for staff.
Key Requirements
- Education: Relevant qualification in Law, Compliance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 35 years of experience in a compliance or governance role (financial services experience is highly advantageous).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Sound working knowledge of FICA, PAIA, FSCA requirements, and corporate governance principles.
- Core Competencies: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities paired with high integrity, attention to detail, and top-tier communication skills.
