Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with legal, regulatory, ethical, and internal policy requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate procurement policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
  • Monitor compliance controls, conduct reviews, and support internal and external audits.
  • Review supplier contracts and commercial agreements to ensure legal and policy compliance.
  • Identify and mitigate contractual risks in partnership with Legal and Procurement teams.
  • Monitor adherence to contractual obligations across the procurement lifecycle.
  • Oversee BBBEE compliance, regulatory reporting, and the implementation of legal, regulatory, and governance requirements impacting procurement.
  • Lead third-party risk management activities, including supplier due diligence, risk assessments, and ongoing risk monitoring.
  • Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships while driving communication, awareness, and adoption of procurement compliance, governance, and capability initiatives.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on compliance, audit, risk, and capability development performance, driving continuous improvement and corrective actions where required.

Minimum requirements

  • Essential: Bachelors Degree in Law LLB, BCom/BA Law
  • Preferred: Masters Degree LLM, MBA, MCom
  • 5 years' experience in legal, compliance, governance, or related functions
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying legal and regulatory requirements within a corporate environment.
  • Experience reviewing, negotiating, and managing commercial contracts and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships across business, legal, procurement, and executive functions.
