Description

We are seeking an experienced Compass Developer to join a delivery team responsible for implementing, configuring and supporting Compass-based solutions. The role requires strong technical and functional analysis capability, practical configuration experience, and the ability to work with stakeholders and architects to deliver robust, maintainable solutions. Candidates with PL/SQL and Compass experience are preferred; COBOL experience is desirable but not mandatory.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyse and validate technical and functional requirements to ensure full scenario coverage.

• Configure Compass product rules, workflows and business processes according to requirements.

• Perform system and interface analysis and produce supporting specifications and documentation.

• Implement, configure and test solutions, evaluating alternative approaches and recommending the best fit.

• Apply system patches and maintain platform currency and stability.

• Provide ongoing support to business stakeholders to deliver effective and efficient solutions and resolve production issues.

• Challenge business requirements constructively to ensure optimal solution outcomes and identify gaps or improvements.

• Ensure solution design aligns with business, functional and architectural standards and nonfunctional requirements.

• Work closely with architects and technical leads to align designs with broader strategic direction and integration patterns.

• Mentor and support junior configurers, conduct peer reviews and participate in quality assurance activities.

• Contribute actively to the Compass Centre of Excellence (CCoE) by sharing knowledge, best practices and reusable assets.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with Compass product configuration and delivery.

• Strong PL/SQL development and database experience. SQL proficiency required.

• COBOL and mainframe experience is an advantage but not mandatory; candidates without COBOL experience will be considered.

• Experience performing system and interface analysis and producing technical specifications.

• Experience implementing, configuring and testing enterprise solutions, including workflows, rules and integrations.

• Good understanding of systems integration patterns, APIs and interface technologies.

• Exposure to patching, platform maintenance and version management on production systems.

• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills with stakeholder-facing experience.

• Experience mentoring junior team members and participating in code/configuration reviews.
