About the YES Initiative: The initiative was launched by the President in 2018 and is a partnership with the government and labour department to collectively devise a national plan to build economic pathways for South Africa's youth by creating workplace opportunities for South African youth over a period of 12 months. Position: Community Liaison Administrator Stipend: R6500 Location: KZN (Pietermaritzburg) Detail: About the role The Community Liaison Administrator provides administrative and coordination support for community engagement activities and stakeholder relations. The role ensures effective communication between the organization, local communities, project beneficiaries, and external stakeholders. Responsibilities: Community Engagement Support Assist with coordinating community meetings, outreach programs, and engagement activities. These include different Age Activities i.e Youth, Young Adults. Support communication between the organization and community members, beneficiaries, and local stakeholders. Assist in mobilizing community members for training programs, events, and project activities. Provide administrative support during community consultations and stakeholder engagements. Administrative Coordination Maintain accurate records of community participants, beneficiaries, and stakeholder engagements. Prepare attendance registers, participant lists, and community engagement documentation. Assist with preparing reports and summaries of community meetings and engagement activities. Coordinate logistics for community meetings, workshops, and outreach initiatives. Communication & Stakeholder Support Serve as a contact point for community queries and information requests. Assist in communicating project information, updates, and announcements to community members. Support the distribution of communication materials such as notices, invitations, and community updates. Maintain positive relationships with community representatives and local stakeholders. Documentation & Reporting Maintain organized records of community activities, engagements, and communications. Assist with compiling community engagement reports and project updates. Ensure that all community-related documentation is filed and accessible when required. Project Support Assist with the coordination of community-based projects, training programs, or development initiatives. Support the monitoring of community participation and engagement levels. Assist project teams in gathering community feedback and insights. Key Performance Areas (KPAs) Effective coordination of community engagement activities. Accurate record keeping and documentation of community interactions. Efficient administrative support for outreach programs and stakeholder meetings. Positive communication and relationship management with community stakeholders. Minimum Requirements South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34. Must not have participated on the YES programme before. Matric. Diploma or Certificate in Public Administration, Community Development, Social Sciences, Communications, or a related field. Skills & Competencies Technical Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Ability to maintain databases and community records. Experience preparing reports and documentation. Core Competencies Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work with diverse communities and stakeholders. Good organizational and coordination skills. Ability to handle community issues professionally and diplomatically. Strong attention to detail and record keeping. Additional Expectations Maintain professionalism and respect when engaging with community members. Promote positive relationships between the organization and local communities. Support transparency and accountability in community engagement activities. Assist with ensuring that community concerns and feedback are documented and communicated appropriately.
