PURPOSE Karo Platinum is preparing to transition from construction into operations. In this context, we will be receiving a steady flow of visitors, including ministers and senior Government officials, regulators, investors as well as representatives of the media. Each of them forms a view of the Company and carries it well beyond the site. This role takes responsibility for that. It owns the corporate narrative, hosts the project's visitors, manages the Company's media and digital presence, and helps build and sustain the relationships on which a project of this scale depends. We are seeking an accomplished communicator with sound judgement and genuine presence to fill this role: assured in the company of senior government officials and other stakeholders, exact in what they put in writing, and candid in the advice they provide to executives and other colleagues. THE ROLE Narrative and brand. the corporate narrative and messaging framework, and the material that carries it — speeches, executive communications, annual report copy, publications, website and internal communications, corporate gifts & apparel. Visits and official engagements. planning and leading ministerial and VIP delegations, statutory courtesy calls, diplomatic visits, investor tours, media days and official ceremonies, with proper attention to programme, protocol and precedence, and preparing our executives to host and to speak. Government and stakeholder relations. mapping relationships with ministries, regulators, industry bodies, investors and commercial partners, and advising the Executive Committee on sentiment as well as on emerging political, regulatory and reputational risk. Media, digital and public relations. first point of contact for in country media enquiries; press releases, briefings and interviews; social media, website and digital campaigns; monitoring of coverage and reputation. Crisis and issues management. crisis communication plans, holding statements and spokesperson protocols, and leading communications through incidents, disputes and industrial action. Advisory, budget and reporting. counsel to the Country Director, the MD and the wider executive team; the communications budget, agencies and suppliers; and reporting on engagement outcomes and reputation metrics.
