The role will involve long-distance transport of cargo between major centres, with responsibility for the safe and professional handling of the vehicle, cargo and delivery documentation.
Requirements
- Valid Code 14 driver’s licence
- Valid PDP
- Proven long-distance driving experience
- Good driving record
- Reliable, responsible and safety-conscious
- Able to manage delivery notes, PODs and other transport documentation
- Willing and able to spend nights away from home when required
- Good knowledge of major South African routes
- Able to carry out basic vehicle checks and report defects promptly
Experience that will be an advantage
- Container transport experience
- Port and depot experience
- Cross-border experience
- Experience with tautliners or similar commercial vehicles
- Previous logistics or freight industry experience
