Code 14 Driver / Truck Mounted Crane Operator

Introduction

We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Truck Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy-duty vehicles and truck-mounted cranes to transport, deliver, load and offload equipment and materials, while ensuring compliance with company procedures, road traffic regulations and client-specific safety requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Safely operate Code 14 vehicles for deliveries and collections.

• Operate truck-mounted cranes for loading, unloading, and positioning of equipment and materials.

• Conduct daily vehicle and crane inspections before commencing work.

• Ensure loads are properly secured and transported safely.

• Complete all required vehicle, crane, and delivery documentation.

• Report vehicle defects, incidents, and maintenance requirements promptly.

• Comply with company safety policies and client site requirements.

• Maintain a professional image when representing the company at customer and client sites.

• Assist with loading, offloading, and general operational duties when required.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• South African citizen.

• Valid Code 14 (EC) Driver's Licence .

• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP/PDP) .

• Valid Truck Mounted Crane Operator Licence/Certificate .

• Minimum 3 years' proven experience operating heavy-duty trucks and truck-mounted cranes.

• Experience driving:

• Manual transmission trucks.

• Automatic transmission trucks.

• Splitter gearbox trucks .

• Good knowledge of South African road traffic regulations.

• Clean driving record.

• No criminal record .

• Medically fit and willing to undergo:

• Pre-employment medical examinations.

• Client-specific medical assessments.

• Annual or periodic medicals as required by clients.

• Must be able to pass client site inductions and comply with site safety procedures.

Willing to travel and work overtime when operational requirements dictate.
