Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver building materials safely and on time to customers and sites.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after trips.
- Ensure loads are properly secured before leaving the premises.
- Assist with checking delivery quantities against invoices and delivery notes.
- Obtain customer signatures and proof of delivery.
- Maintain the vehicle in a clean and roadworthy condition.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, delays, or delivery problems immediately.
- Follow company procedures and all South African road and safety regulations.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum Requirements
- Valid Code 14 / EC Driver’s Licence.
- Valid PDP.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience driving Code 14 vehicles.
- Good knowledge of Johannesburg and surrounding Gauteng areas.
- Experience delivering building materials or working in the hardware/construction industry will be advantageous.
- Good driving record.
- Physically fit and able to assist where required.
- Reliable, punctual, disciplined, and trustworthy.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Preferred
- Experience driving trucks with building-material loads.
- Knowledge of load securing and safe offloading procedures.
- Forklift experience/licence will be an advantage.
