Job Title: CO₂ Welder Start Date: 2026-07-06 - 2026-08-31 Vacancy Type: Permanent JHB000757 Sectors: Engineering and Technical Location: Gauteng , JHB - Eastern Suburbs Salary: (Market related, Negotiable) Brief: cnc|engineering|welder CO₂ Welder We are looking for an experienced CO₂ Welder to join our team in Germiston Detail: Job Title: CO₂ Welder Job Specification: CO₂ Welder Job Purpose To perform high-quality CO₂ (MIG/MAG) welding on engineering components, structures, and fabricated assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, company standards, and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities Perform CO₂ (MIG/MAG) welding on mild steel and other approved materials. Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and work instructions. Prepare materials by measuring, cutting, grinding, and fitting components before welding. Set up and operate welding machines and related equipment. Inspect welded joints to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Repair defective welds where necessary. Use measuring equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances. Maintain welding equipment and report faults promptly. Follow workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures. Keep the work area clean and organized. Assist with fabrication and assembly work when required. Meet production targets while maintaining quality standards. Minimum Qualifications Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent. Recognized Welding Certificate or Trade Qualification preferred. Valid CO₂/MIG welding certification is an advantage. Experience Minimum 2-5 years' experience as a CO₂ (MIG/MAG) Welder in an engineering, manufacturing, or fabrication environment. Experience welding structural steel, plate, pipe, or heavy engineering components. Experience working from engineering drawings. Knowledge CO₂/MIG/MAG welding techniques. Welding safety procedures. Engineering drawings and welding symbols. Metal preparation and fabrication processes. Quality inspection methods. Occupational health and safety requirements. Skills Excellent welding skills. Ability to read technical drawings. Strong attention to detail. Good hand-eye coordination. Ability to use measuring instruments. Problem-solving skills. Time management. Teamwork and communication skills. Competencies Quality-focused. Reliable and dependable. Safety-conscious. Ability to work under pressure. Good work ethic. Willingness to work overtime when required. Continuous improvement mindset. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods.
