Start free — we apply for you →CNC Programmer / Setter / OperatorMilnerton, Cape Town | Market Related SalaryA precision-engineering business in Milnerton is looking for an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator to join its machining team.This is a hands-on technical role for a trade-tested CNC professional who can confidently program, set and operate CNC milling machines and lathes, work to tight tolerances and produce high-quality precision components.The successful candidate must have strong current CNC machining experience and be proficient in Autodesk Fusion 360 / CAM
Key Responsibilities
• Program, set and operate CNC milling machines. • Work on 3-axis and 4-axis CNC milling . • Set and operate CNC turning machines and lathes. • Create and optimise CNC programs using Autodesk Fusion 360 / CAM . • Interpret technical drawings and machining specifications. • Select appropriate tooling, feeds and speeds. • Machine components to tight tolerances. • Perform in-process dimensional and quality checks. • Make tooling and programme adjustments where required. • Identify and resolve machining or programming issues. • Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality and productivity. • Ensure machines, tools and work areas are maintained correctly. • Follow workshop safety and quality procedures. Minimum Requirements
• Red Seal Trade Test – essential. • Fanuc Control experience essential. • Minimum 5 years’ current CNC machining experience . • Strong 3-axis and 4-axis CNC milling experience. • CNC turning and lathe experience. • Proven ability to program, set and operate CNC machinery. • Proficiency in Autodesk Fusion 360 / CAM . • Strong understanding of precision machining. • Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances. • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings. • Good measuring and inspection skills. • Own reliable transport.
