The successful candidate will be responsible for the setup, programming, operation, and maintenance of CNC milling, CNC turning, wire EDM, and sinker EDM machines to manufacture high-precision components, tooling, moulds, dies, jigs, and fixtures to exact customer specifications. Detail: Key Responsibilities Set up, program, and operate CNC milling, CNC turning, wire EDM, and sinker EDM machines. Manufacture precision-engineered components in accordance with engineering drawings and customer specifications. Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD drawings, and machining instructions. Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, electrodes, cutting parameters, and machine settings. Perform machine setups, tool changes, work offsets, and program adjustments. Conduct first-off inspections and in-process quality checks to ensure components meet specified tolerances. Measure finished components using precision measuring equipment, including verniers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and height gauges. Produce complex profiles and precision components using wire EDM and spark erosion processes. Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime. Perform routine preventative maintenance on CNC and EDM machinery. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processes and production efficiency. Ensure compliance with quality standards, production schedules, and workplace safety requirements. Maintain accurate production records and ensure good housekeeping within the workshop. Minimum Requirements Trade qualification as a Toolmaker, Machinist, Fitter & Turner, or equivalent (advantageous). Minimum of 3–5 years' experience operating CNC milling, CNC turning, Wire EDM, and/or Sinker EDM machines within a precision engineering or tooling environment. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and geometric tolerances (GD&T). Experience machining various materials, including hardened steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and engineering plastics. Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments. Experience with CNC programming and CAD/CAM software will be advantageous. Valid driver's licence is advantageous. Key Skills & Competencies Strong CNC machining and EDM machining knowledge.
