- An appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as Psychologist.
- Current registration with the Health Professions Council [HPCSA] as a Psychologist.
- Experience for Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA.
- Experience for Grade 2: A minimum of 8 years relevant experience afterregistration with the HPCSA as a Clinical Psychologist.
- Experience for Grade 3: Minimum of 16 years after registration with the HPCSA as a Clinical Psychologist.
- Computer literacy including MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Virtual meeting platforms literacy,
- Inherent requirements: Valid driver's license.
Knowledge and Skills
- Appropriate clinical knowledge & experience in the field of Clinical Psychology;
- Psychotherapy, assessment, counselling.
- Analytical report writing skills.
- Knowledge of current health and public service legislation, regulations and policies.
- Sound knowledge of professional ethics.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Provide psychological service delivery at hospital level.
- Participate in hospital teams/committees.
- Support hospital activities related to mental health.
- Supervise work of the psychometrists in the hospital.
- Implement community outreach programmes.
- Liaise and work with other hospital departments.
- Liaise with psychiatric services in the hospital.
- Assist in training for primary health care professionals.
