REQUIREMENTS

  • Matric / Grade 12. An appropriate B Degree / National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Nursing PLUS. Minimum of 7 years appropriate / recognizable nursing experience after registration as a professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
  • Registration as Midwife / Accoucheur with SANC. Valid Driver's License – C1. Diploma in advanced Midwifery and neonatal nursing will be an added advantage. Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit proof of experience / service certificate endorsed by HR Department.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Training And Competencies Required: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Presentation / Facilitation skills. Knowledge of HIV and AIDS Comprehensive plan Knowledge of District Health Systems. Knowledge of relevant regulation and policies. An understanding of challenges facing the public Health Sector. Ability to translate and transform objectives into practical plans. Ability to prioritize work related matters and to comply with time frames.
  • Financial Management skills. Project Management skills. Leadership, organizational, decision making and problem-solving abilities within the DHS framework. Knowledge of MCWH programs. Supervisory and analytical thinking skills. Provide effective management and professional leadership.

DUTIES

  • Develop MNCWH plan in line with District & project strategic plans. Co-ordinate and promote MNCWH and Phila Mntwana Programme. Promote messages which support the programme in all events. Co-ordinate and facilitate MNCWH and Phila Mntwana in-service Training.
  • Ensure integration of maternal and child in health programmes. Monitor indicators which measure the health practices, provide support and guidance to health facilities and report finding to District management Team. Report writing. Manage all resources allocated to MNCWH and Phila Mntwana Project. Ensure Programme integration into Sukuma Sakhe Objectives. Implement and coordinate Maternal and Child Health Care Services in Hospital. Implement standards, practices, criteria and indicators for quality Maternal Child health Care. Facilitate and conduct perinatal mortality meetings. Maintain a plan to improve the quality of maternal and Child Health Care Services.
  • Maintain a constructive working relationship with a multi-disciplinary team. Ensure effective utilization of all resource in the department. Manage and supervise the implementation of AI obstetric programmes PMTCT etc. Ensure effective implement of the ANC / PNC policy. Review current policies and develop and implement new policies and protocols in line with realizing the millennium goals.
  • Display a concern to patients, promoting advocacy and facilitating proper treatment and care ensuring that the unit adhere to principles of Batho Pele, Patients' Rights Chatter and National Core Standards. Displays Knowledge of NCS and quality in DHS. Conduct or assist in ESMOE drills in the Facility.
