- Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification i.e. diploma/degree in nursing or equivalent qualification R683 plus R254 that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council SANC as a Professional Nurse. A post-basic nursing qualification with a duration of at least 1 year Diploma in Clinical Nursing Science: Health Assessment, Treatment and Care accredited with the SANC R48. OR A 4 year Bachelor Degree in Nursing R174 or equivalent qualification R683 plus R1497 or R171 plus R1497 that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council SANC as a Professional Nurse. A post-graduate Diploma R635 accredited with the SANC in Primary Care Nursing. Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
Experience
- Grade 1: A minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
- Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. At least 10 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification or post-graduate diploma in the relevant speciality. Inherent requirement of the job: Valid driver's licence Code B/EB. Willingness to work overtime when necessary. Willingness to work at other facilities within the Southern/Western Sub-Structure.
- Competencies knowledge/skills: Basic computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook. Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies of the Department of Health Western Cape. Communication skills written and verbal.
DUTIES
- Assist with the provision of Comprehensive PHC clinical service to surrounding communities. Plan and implement Health Promotion and Prevention activities in facility and community as part of COPC. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as part of the multi-disciplinary team. Clinical governance as part of quality assurance. Information Management and timeous submission of reports and participation in facility audits. Assist with management of human resources and the development of staff.
