About the role The successful candidate will assist with onboarding new clients, managing administrative tasks, contacting clients by phone and email, providing updates, and supporting the team with day-to-day client service and office administration. Bookkeeping or finance knowledge will be considered a bonus, as our clients are primarily based in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Assist with onboarding new clients, including collecting information, documents, forms, and identification where required. • Set up and maintain accurate client records, checklists, files, and internal system updates. • Contact clients by phone and email to request information, follow up on outstanding items, and provide progress updates. • Communicate professionally with Australian clients and ensure clear, accurate, and timely responses. • Support the accounting team with general administration, document organisation, data entry, and workflow tracking. • Book appointments, coordinate meetings, manage calendars, and assist with client follow-ups where required. • Help monitor deadlines and ensure client information is received in a timely manner. • Assist with basic bookkeeping, finance, or accounts administration tasks where appropriate and under guidance. • Contribute to improving internal processes, client communication, and administrative workflows. • Take on additional responsibilities as the business grows and as skills develop during the internship. Minimum Requirements

• South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34. • Must not have participated on the YES programme before. • Matric. • Excellent written and spoken English is essential. • Confidence speaking with clients over the phone in a professional and friendly manner. • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks accurately. • High attention to detail and willingness to follow procedures carefully. • Good computer skills, including email, spreadsheets, document management, and cloud-based systems. • Professional presentation, positive attitude, and strong work ethic. • Ability to work from the office, collaborate with the team, and learn in a professional environment. • Reliability, punctuality, and willingness to take feedback and improve. Desirable Skills

  • Bookkeeping, finance, accounting, or accounts administration knowledge.
  • Previous experience in an accounting firm, professional services business, or office administration role.
  • Basic understanding of GST, BAS, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or bank reconciliations.
