Job Title: Clearing Manager (Cargo) - Durban Prospecton Start Date: 2026-06-29 - 2026-08-28 Vacancy Type: Permanent DBN000313 Sectors: Logistics, Warehouse & Freight Manufacturing Senior Management Location: KwaZulu Natal , Durban Salary: (Market related) Brief: freight manager|general manager|gm DBN000313 - Clearing Manager (Cargo) - Durban South Purpose of the job: To manage and mentor the team toward operational excellence, increased branch profitability, and superior customer satisfaction Required Qualifications Matric (as a minimum) Shipping or logistics qualification – not negotiable Minimum of 5 years managerial experience in operational role or similar position Minimum of 7 experience in import Bill of Entry tariffing and import and export procedures (sea and air, groupage and FCLs) as a Client Controller Working Knowledge of SARS Tariffing and rules and regulations for bill of entry processing, especially for imports where duty is applicable Computer literacy: Outlook and Excel, and beneficial if worked on Shipshape Detail: Technical Competencies & Experience: Manage, train, develop and discipline staff Be the first point of call for staff Experience working with import Bill of Entry tariffing and import and export procedures (sea and air, groupage and FCLs) as a Client Controller Working Knowledge of SARS Tariffing and rules and regulations for bill of entry processing, for imports where duty is applicable Drive branch profitability and financial compliance. Oversee financial reporting and documentation for accounts. Manage end-to-end shipments for air, sea, and road freight. Coordinate freight operations from quoting through final invoicing. Track shipment metrics including stack dates, ATA, and container monitoring. Liaise with shipping lines, vendors, and external service providers. Process customs documentation including SAD500, EUR1, and RIT clearances. Manage specialized permits including hazardous cargo and certificates. Arrange mandatory inspections and freight fumigation protocols. Lead branch personnel through recruitment, training, and performance reviews. Nurture client relationships to stimulate portfolio growth. Provide operational backup to maintain team workflow continuity.
