- Day to day supervision and management cleaning, hygiene, Landscaping, gardening, and turf contracts including the coordination and management of related service requests.
JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Cleaning Services Management
- Manage and coordinate cleaning services across campus buildings and related facilities, ensure cleaning standards, service schedules and agreed service levels are consistently achieved; monitor service provider performance and implement corrective actions where required.
Landscaping, Turf & Sports Facilities Maintenance
- Coordinate and supervise landscaping, garden, turf and sports ground maintenance; ensure reactive and planned maintenance is completed to required standards; monitor irrigation, waste management, environmental and land-improvement activities.
Hygiene & Environmental Standards
- Ensure appropriate hygiene standards are maintained across buildings and related facilities; conduct inspections and quality assurance; identify hygiene deficiencies and ensure timely corrective action to maintain a safe, clean and suitable environment.
Maintenance Planning & IWMS Management
- Implement and monitor the IWMS; ensure maintenance requests are captured and managed effectively; track deferred maintenance; optimise planned maintenance and minimise emergency/unscheduled maintenance.
Cleaning & Landscaping Contract Management
- Manage and administer cleaning and landscaping service provider contracts; monitor performance against contractual requirements; manage deviations and non-performance; implement corrective and contractual measures where necessary.
Quality Assurance & Site Inspections
- Conduct regular physical inspections of buildings, cleaning areas, landscaped areas, sports grounds and related facilities; monitor service quality and ensure standards are maintained.
Stakeholder & Customer Management
- Liaise with academic/support departments, students, clients, contractors and other role players; coordinate service requirements for special events and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
Personnel Management, Administration & Planning
- Supervise and coordinate personnel and service activities; manage administrative requirements, work schedules, planning and operational records; ensure effective utilisation of resources.
Occupational Health, Safety & Risk Compliance
- Identify and manage operational, contractual, environmental and OHS risks; monitor compliance with applicable requirements and ensure appropriate corrective measures are implemented.
Financial Management & Reporting
- Monitor expenditure and service-related budgets; contribute to budget planning and control; compile and provide operational reports to management.
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor's Degree NQF7 in Horticulture/Agriculture/Landscaping.
- Minimum three 3 years' experience in landscaping and/or sports ground maintenance environment or cleaning.
- Code 08 Drivers Licence.
ADDED ADVANTAGES & PREFERENCES
- Three 3 years' experience in project or event management.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Interpreting tenders and chairing meetings.
- Formal written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office.
- Good financial knowledge and ability to interpret budgets.
