- Grade 10 or equivalent qualification and grade 12 will be an added advantage. A minimum of three 3 years' experience in cleaning service. Cleaning in hospital/Clinical environment will serve as an added advantage.
- Basic understanding of Policies, Batho Pele Principles, Patient Right Charter, Occupational Health and Safety, Six Priorities and National Core Standards. Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to communicate well with people at different levels. Ability to handle tasks of multidisciplinary nature and work independently and in a team. Ability to organize, plan and supervise. Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information. Be prepared to work shifts including weekends and public holiday.
Duties
- Supervise the work of subordinates and ensure that high standards of cleaning are attained. Assign schedules and duties to cleaning staff daily. Train subordinates on cleaning standards and procedures to ensure compliance. Monitor daily performances of all cleaning staff. Ensure that cleaning schedules and check lists are implemented and cleaners are compliant.
- Ensure that walkabouts and inspections are done daily and submit challenges or incidents reports to the manager. Ensure that cleaning personnel perform required duties, appropriate cleaning procedures are being rendered, and quality control measures are continually maintained. Management of human resource PMDS, Leaves, approving of overtime claims and submit to Human Resource.
- Compile weekly and monthly reports Order and receive stock and store cleaning material safely. Management of cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment. Management and daily issues of cleaning chemicals.
- Ensure adherence to official hours and attendance. Ensure management of prevention and infection control. Ensure proper segregation of waste. Ensure all staff adheres to utilizing and wearing of personal. Develop yearly leave plans to ensure that the absenteeism rate is kept to a minimum. Perform any other work-related instructions
