Clamp Driver - Manufacturing/Warehousing

Introduction

Our client is seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Clamp Driver to join their warehouse and operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a clamp forklift to safely handle, move, load, unload, and stack large or specialised materials within the warehouse and production environment.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience operating clamp attachments and a strong understanding of safe material-handling procedures, stock movement, and warehouse operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate a clamp forklift safely and efficiently

• Load and unload materials from trucks and delivery vehicles

• Move raw materials, finished goods, reels, pallets, or other products within the warehouse and production areas

• Safely clamp, lift, transport, stack, and position materials without causing product damage

• Supply production areas with materials as required

• Move finished products from production to designated storage or dispatch areas

• Assist with receiving, dispatch, and stock movement activities

• Ensure materials are stored in the correct designated locations

• Complete stock movement and material-handling documentation accurately

• Conduct daily pre-use inspections of the forklift and clamp attachment

• Report equipment defects, damage, or safety concerns immediately

• Maintain safe stacking and storage practices

• Assist with stock counts and inventory checks where required

• Adhere to warehouse traffic rules and pedestrian safety procedures

• Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards within operational areas

• Comply with all company Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental procedures

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric advantageous

• Valid Forklift / Clamp Truck Operator Licence or Certificate – Essential

• Minimum 2–3 years' experience operating a clamp forklift

• Previous experience within a manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, packaging, paper, or distribution environment

• Proven experience handling large, heavy, or specialised loads using clamp attachments

• Good understanding of warehouse and material-handling procedures

• Ability to work safely in busy production and warehouse environments

• Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and weekends where operationally required

Advantageous

• Experience within the packaging, paper, corrugated, printing, plastics, or manufacturing industry

• Experience handling large paper reels, rolls, bales, or similar materials

• Exposure to stock control and warehouse management systems

• Experience loading and offloading trucks and containers
