Purpose of the Role

The Foreman - Water Engineering will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and controlling all site activities related to bulk water supply, water and wastewater treatment works (WWTW), pump stations, water reticulation, sewer reticulation, pump stations, and associated civil and mechanical works.

Role Expectations

The role requires an experienced Foreman with proven technical competence in water infrastructure construction, strong leadership, and the ability to work in site-based environments across South Africa in accordance with drawings, specifications, safety, and quality requirements.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

· National Diploma in Civil Engineering or higher.

· Additional construction supervision, health and safety, or site management training will be advantageous.

· Valid driver’s licence required.

· Professional registration with ECSA as a Candidate Engineering Technician, Candidate Engineering Technologist, Professional Engineering Technician, or Professional Engineering Technologist is preferred.

· Candidates currently pursuing ECSA registration will be considered favourably.

Experience Requirements

The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years proven construction supervision experience in civil engineering infrastructure projects, specifically including:

· Bulk water pipelines.

· Wastewater treatment works.

· Water reticulation systems.

· Sewer reticulation systems.

· Trenching, pipe laying, bedding, backfilling, compaction, testing, and commissioning support.

· Reinforced concrete works associated with chambers, manholes, pump stations, reservoirs, and treatment structures.

· Site supervision of labour, subcontractors, operators, and general construction crews.

· Working from construction drawings, specifications, method statements, quality control plans, and site instructions.

· Exposure to public-sector and municipal infrastructure projects will be advantageous.

Additional Skills Required

Ability to read civil & mechanical drawings; pipe laying, HDPE/uPVC/steel pipes, testing & commissioning, team management, and health & safety compliance. Willing to travel to other provinces.
