Start free — we apply for you →An opportunity is available for a technically skilled Civil Technologist to join an established engineering team in Cape Town. The role focuses on 3D CAD modelling, civil and structural draughting, design calculations, and infrastructure documentation across various project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage 3D CAD models using Revit and Civil 3D.
- Produce detailed drawings for civil infrastructure, earthworks, water, sewer and stormwater networks, reinforced concrete and structural steel .
- Prepare general arrangements, layouts, alignment sheets, as-built drawings and reinforcing bending schedules.
- Complete design calculations under the supervision of the appointed Professional Engineer.
- Compile quantities, Bills of Quantities (BoQs), Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and calculation sheets.
- Perform clash detection and coordinate integrated models with mechanical and ECI disciplines.
- Conduct site surveys and inspections and assist with construction-related technical requirements.
Requirements
- Matric and BTech in Civil Engineering .
- 4 Years’ Experience minimum
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Revit .
- Experience with Prokon for structural calculations.
- Experience in 3D modelling and civil/structural infrastructure draughting.
- Technical knowledge of civil services, earthworks, reinforced concrete and structural steel detailing.
