Our client, a well-established export citrus producer with its own packhouse, is looking for an experienced General Manager to take full ownership of a large commercial citrus operation in Limpopo. This is a senior, residential role reporting to Group executive level, with a clear focus on orchard performance, renewal and operational discipline.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the operation's P&L and delivery of the annual business plan.
- Lead agricultural performance across irrigation, nutrition, crop protection, canopy management and yield.
- Drive orchard renewal and the replanting programme.
- Oversee crop estimation, harvest planning and coordination with the packhouse.
- Improve export fruit quality and pack-out.
- Manage operating and capital budgets, costs and reporting.
- Lead, develop and hold accountable the farm and production management team.
- Manage permanent and seasonal labour and productivity.
- Ensure GLOBALG.A.P., SIZA, export, food safety and HSE compliance.
- Maintain constructive relationships with staff, suppliers, communities and industry bodies.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Substantial senior management experience in commercial export citrus
- Proven record of improving yield, quality, pack-out or cost performance
- Experience managing managers and significant budgets
- Strong practical citrus agronomy knowledge
- Agricultural degree or diploma advantageous
- Strong second-in-command candidates ready for a first GM role will be considered
